Ingredients

  • 4 pounds Beef brisket
  • 2 teaspoons Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 large Yellow onion
  • 6 Burger buns
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 12 slices Pickle slices

Directions

Step 1

Pat the beef brisket dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

Step 2

Rub the spice mixture evenly over the entire brisket. Let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket for about 3 minutes on each side until browned.

Place the sliced onion at the bottom of a slow cooker. Transfer the seared brisket on top of the onions.

In a medium bowl, whisk together beef broth, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Pour the mixture over the brisket in the slow cooker.
