Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 6 slices Thick-cut bacon
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 100 grams Fresh lettuce leaves
  • 1 large Tomato
  • 1 medium Red onion
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 4 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan to medium-high heat.

Step 2

Slice the tomato and red onion into thin rounds and set aside.

Step 3

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and gently shape them into patties. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Step 4

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skillet and let it drain on paper towels.

Step 5

Place the beef patties on the preheated grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on the first side before flipping.

Step 6

After flipping the patties, add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty and allow them to cook for another 4 minutes or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

Step 7

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in the skillet used for bacon, face down, until golden brown.

Step 8

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, and 1 tablespoon of ketchup on the top half. Add a small dollop of mustard if desired.

Step 9

Layer a few pieces of lettuce, a slice of tomato, and several rings of red onion on the bottom half of each bun.

Step 10

Place the cooked patty with melted cheese on top of the vegetable layer, followed by 1 1/2 slices of crispy bacon.

Step 11

Complete the burger by placing the top half of the toasted bun. Serve immediately with favorite side dishes.
