Ingredients

  • 1 pound Angus beef
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 Hamburger buns
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 4 leaves Lettuce
  • 1 large, sliced Tomato
  • 8 slices Pickles
  • 4 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 4 teaspoons Mustard

Directions

Step 1

Start by seasoning the Angus beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 2

Divide the beef mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Step 3

Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little bit of oil to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Once the grill or skillet is hot, cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on the first side, or until a nice crust forms.

Step 5

Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each one. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired level of doneness.

Step 6

While the patties are cooking, spread butter on the insides of the hamburger buns and toast them on the grill or in a separate skillet until golden brown.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked patty with melted cheese, a slice of tomato, two slices of pickles, a tablespoon of ketchup, and a teaspoon of mustard.

Step 8

Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately. Enjoy your classic Angus cheeseburger!
