  • 30 ml Olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 7 grams Salt
  • 7 grams Instant yeast
  • 15 grams Milk powder (optional for added richness)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the warm water and honey. Stir until the honey is dissolved.

Sprinkle the instant yeast over the water mixture and let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.

Add in the olive oil, salt, and milk powder (if using). Stir to combine.

Gradually add the whole wheat flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition. If using a stand mixer, use the dough hook attachment.

Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes by hand on a floured surface or for 6-8 minutes in a stand mixer, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
