Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground pork
  • 1 tbsp Orange zest
  • 1 tsp Lime zest
  • 2 tbsp Fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 4 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Fresh spinach leaves
  • 0.5 Red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 Avocado, sliced
  • 4 Cheddar cheese slices

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, orange zest, lime zest, fresh orange juice, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 2

Divide the pork mixture into four equal portions and shape into patties about 3/4-inch thick.

Step 3

Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat and drizzle with olive oil.

Step 4

Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Add a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Step 5

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a separate pan.

Step 6

Spread 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun.

Step 7

Layer the spinach leaves, followed by a cooked pork patty, thinly sliced red onions, avocado slices, and the top half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes like sweet potato fries or a citrus coleslaw.
