Ingredients

  • 450 grams Beef sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 120 ml Orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 30 ml Lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 60 ml Soy sauce
  • 15 grams Cornstarch
  • 15 grams Brown sugar
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 15 grams Ginger, minced
  • 30 ml Vegetable oil
  • 1 large Red bell pepper, sliced
  • 150 grams Broccoli florets
  • 1 large Carrot, thinly sliced
  • 3 stalks Green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds, optional for garnish

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, whisk together orange juice, lime juice, soy sauce, cornstarch, and brown sugar until smooth. Set aside.

Step 2

Heat 15 ml of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Add the thinly sliced beef to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

In the same skillet, add the remaining 15 ml of vegetable oil and heat over medium-high heat.

Step 5

Add the minced garlic and ginger. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 6

Toss in the sliced red bell pepper, broccoli florets, and carrot slices. Stir fry for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.

Step 7

Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables.

Step 8

Pour the prepared citrus sauce over the beef and vegetables. Stir well to coat evenly, and let it cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.

Step 9

Remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle chopped green onions on top.

Step 10

Garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot over steamed rice or noodles.
