Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 packet Active dry yeast
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Ground cinnamon
  • 5 tablespoons Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons Milk (for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

Warm the milk in a small saucepan over low heat until it reaches about 110°F (lukewarm). Remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of the granulated sugar and the yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, until foamy.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the remaining sugar, 4 tablespoons of melted butter, and eggs. Stir in the yeast mixture.

Step 3

Add the flour and salt to the bowl, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Step 4

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Step 5

While the dough rises, prepare the cinnamon filling by mixing the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

Step 6

After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a 12x18-inch rectangle.

Step 7

Brush the rolled-out dough with the melted butter and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the surface.

Step 8

Starting from one of the long sides, roll up the dough tightly into a log. Pinch the edges to seal.

Step 9

Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 12 equal slices and place them into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Step 10

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and let the rolls rise again in a warm area for 30 minutes, or until puffy.

Step 11

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Step 12

While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.

Step 13

Once the rolls are finished baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for 10 minutes before drizzling with the glaze.

Step 14

Serve warm and enjoy!
