Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds Ground beef
  • 0.5 pounds Ground pork
  • 1 large Apple (peeled, cored, and finely grated)
  • 0.5 cup Sweet onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 0.75 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, grated apple, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently using your hands or a spatula until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 3

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down gently to shape it into an even loaf.

Step 4

In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar to create the glaze.

Step 5

Pour about half of the glaze mixture over the top of the meatloaf, spreading it evenly with a spoon or spatula.

Step 6

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes.

Step 7

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the remaining glaze evenly across the top.

Step 8

Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) on a meat thermometer.

Step 9

Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This helps the juices redistribute for a moist and delicious result.

Step 10

Serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables.
