Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 1 medium, finely chopped onion
  • 2 large egg
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup ketchup (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, finely chopped onion, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 3

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan. Press it down to ensure it’s evenly packed and forms a loaf shape.

Step 4

In a small bowl, prepare the glaze by mixing the ketchup, brown sugar, and yellow mustard until smooth.

Step 5

Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf using a spoon or spatula.

Step 6

Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 55–60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) when tested with a meat thermometer.

Step 7

Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and makes slicing easier.

Step 8

Carefully transfer the meatloaf to a serving platter. Slice and serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or green beans.
