  • 4 Bone-in pork chops
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1 Yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1.5 cups Apple cider
  • 1 cup Chicken stock
  • 4 Fresh thyme sprigs
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon All-purpose flour

Directions

Step 1

Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.

Step 2

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Step 3

Sear the pork chops in the hot oil for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to medium and add the sliced onion to the same skillet. Sauté for 5 minutes until softened and lightly caramelized.
