Ingredients

  • 2 cups Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted butter
  • 0.75 cups Evaporated milk
  • 1.5 cups Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 7 ounces Marshmallow cream
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cups Chopped nuts (optional, such as walnuts or pecans)

Directions

Step 1

Prepare an 8x8-inch square baking dish by lining it with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Lightly grease the lining for easy removal.

Step 2

In a medium-sized heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, unsalted butter, and evaporated milk.

Step 3

Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir constantly until the mixture begins to boil.

Step 4

Once boiling, continue cooking for approximately 5 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent scorching. The mixture should thicken slightly.

Step 5

Remove the saucepan from heat and immediately add the semi-sweet chocolate chips and marshmallow cream. Stir vigorously until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.

Step 6

Stir in the vanilla extract and, if desired, the chopped nuts.

Step 7

Quickly pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.

Step 8

Allow the fudge to cool to room temperature, then transfer it to the refrigerator to set for at least 2 hours.

Step 9

Once set, use the foil or parchment to lift the fudge out of the pan. Cut into 24 squares and serve.

Step 10

Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
