  • 100 grams Almonds (chopped)
  • 150 grams Raisins
  • 50 grams Candied orange peel
  • 50 grams Candied lemon peel
  • 200 grams Marzipan
  • 50 grams Powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Rum
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 50 grams Melted butter

Directions

Step 1

Warm the milk gently in a saucepan until lukewarm. Add the active dry yeast and a teaspoon of sugar. Stir well and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Mix well. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, softened butter, and vanilla extract. Knead the mixture until it forms a smooth dough, about 8-10 minutes. You can use a stand mixer with a dough hook attachment if preferred.

Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it has doubled in size.
