Ingredients

  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup Warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 pieces Large eggs
  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Extra unsalted butter (for brushing)

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium-low heat until warm but not boiling. Add the butter and sugar, stirring until melted. Remove from heat and let it cool to lukewarm.

Step 2

In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in the warm water. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes, until it becomes foamy.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the lukewarm milk mixture, eggs, and the foamy yeast mixture.

Step 4

Gradually add the flour and salt, one cup at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition until a soft dough forms.

Step 5

Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5 minutes.

Step 6

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Step 7

Punch down the dough and turn it out onto the floured surface. Divide it into 12 equal portions and shape each piece into a ball.

Step 8

Place the dough balls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, cover again, and let them rise for another 30-40 minutes until puffy.

Step 9

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 10

Bake the rolls for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Step 11

Brush the hot rolls with the extra melted butter as soon as they come out of the oven.

Step 12

Serve warm and enjoy!
