Ingredients

  • 240 ml espresso or strong coffee
  • 60 ml coffee liqueur
  • 120 grams dark chocolate, chopped
  • 250 grams mascarpone cheese
  • 240 ml heavy cream
  • 80 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 200 grams ladyfingers
  • 30 grams dark chocolate shavings

Directions

Step 1

Brew the espresso or strong coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature. Mix it with the coffee liqueur in a shallow dish. Set aside.

Step 2

Melt the chopped dark chocolate using a double boiler or in a microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Set aside to cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large bowl, whisk together the mascarpone cheese until smooth. Gradually add in the melted chocolate and continue whisking until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with the granulated sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
