Ingredients

  • 2 sheets Frozen puff pastry sheets
  • 1 cup Dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup Fresh raspberries
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour (for dusting)
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Allow the frozen puff pastry sheets to thaw according to package instructions (usually about 10-15 minutes).

Step 3

Lightly dust your work surface with flour, then gently roll out each pastry sheet to slightly flatten them.

Step 4

Cut each puff pastry sheet into 4 equal squares, yielding a total of 8 squares.

Step 5

Place about 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips and 3-4 fresh raspberries in the center of each square. Sprinkle a small pinch of granulated sugar over the filling.

Step 6

In a small bowl, beat the egg with the tablespoon of milk to create an egg wash.

Step 7

Brush the edges of each pastry square with the egg wash, then fold one corner over to the opposite corner to create a triangle. Press the edges together firmly to seal.

Step 8

Use a fork to crimp the edges for a decorative touch and ensure a tight seal.

Step 9

Transfer the turnovers to the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart. Brush the tops of the turnovers with the remaining egg wash.

Step 10

Using a sharp knife, make a small slit or two on the top of each turnover to allow steam to escape while baking.

Step 11

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the turnovers are golden brown and puffed.

Step 12

Remove the turnovers from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack.

Step 13

Optional: Dust the turnovers with powdered sugar before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.

Step 14

Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
