Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F). Grease and line a 23cm (9-inch) round cake pan with parchment paper.
In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt together the butter and dark chocolate, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
