Ingredients

  • 170 grams unsalted butter
  • 200 grams semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 200 grams granulated sugar
  • 100 grams brown sugar
  • 3 pieces large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 100 grams all-purpose flour
  • 30 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1.5 tablespoons instant espresso powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and line a 9x9-inch (23x23 cm) baking pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the semi-sweet chocolate chips and stir until completely smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and the slightly cooled chocolate-butter mixture until fully combined.

Step 4

Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.

Step 5

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, espresso powder, and salt.

Step 6

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a rubber spatula, being careful not to overmix.

Step 7

Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 28-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Step 9

Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting them out using the parchment paper overhang.

Step 10

Slice into 12 squares and serve. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
