  • 0.5 cups hot water
  • 1.5 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.33 cups dark chocolate chips (optional)
  • 0.25 teaspoons sea salt (optional, for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Place the pitted dates in a medium-sized bowl and pour the hot water over them. Let the dates soak for about 10 minutes to soften.

While the dates soak, line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a bit of overhang on the sides for easy removal.

Step 3

In a food processor, combine the soaked dates (drain any excess water), rolled oats, almond flour, cocoa powder, almond butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Blend until the mixture is sticky and well combined. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides occasionally.
