Ingredients

  • 6 large Croissants
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups Whole milk
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar

Directions

Step 1

Grease the inside of your crock pot with the butter to prevent sticking.

Step 2

Cut the croissants into large chunks and layer half of them in the bottom of the crock pot.

Step 3

Sprinkle half of the chocolate chips over the croissant pieces.

Step 4

Repeat with the remaining croissant chunks and chocolate chips to create two layers.

Step 5

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.

Step 6

Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant and chocolate layers, making sure all pieces are soaked.

Step 7

Gently press the croissants down into the liquid to help them absorb the custard mixture.

Step 8

Cover the crock pot with the lid and cook on low heat for 2 hours, or until the pudding is set and the top is golden and slightly crisp.

Step 9

Once done, turn off the crock pot and let the pudding cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Step 10

Dust the top with powdered sugar before serving warm. Optionally, serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
