Ingredients

  • 115 grams unsalted butter
  • 170 grams semi-sweet chocolate
  • 200 grams granulated sugar
  • 50 grams brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 95 grams all-purpose flour
  • 30 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 120 grams chocolate chunks
  • 80 grams walnuts

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a 9x9 inch (23x23 cm) baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a heatproof bowl, melt the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate together over a pot of simmering water or in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Let it cool slightly.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and brown sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 4

Slowly pour the slightly cooled chocolate mixture into the sugar and egg mixture, whisking until fully combined.

Step 5

Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the wet ingredients. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.

Step 6

Fold in the chocolate chunks and walnuts until evenly distributed.

Step 7

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly using a spatula.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 28-32 minutes, or until the center is just set and a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Step 9

Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. Serve and enjoy!
