Ingredients

  • 24 pieces maraschino cherries with stems
  • 24 pieces Hershey's Kisses
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips
  • 48 pieces sliced almonds
  • 24 dots red gel icing or edible red pearls
  • 48 dots black gel icing or chocolate sprinkles
  • 1 sheet wax paper

Directions

Step 1

Line a baking sheet with a sheet of wax paper to prepare your work surface.

Step 2

Drain the maraschino cherries and pat them dry gently using paper towels. The cherries must be dry for the chocolate to adhere properly.

Step 3

Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 15-30 second intervals. Stir between intervals until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted. Be careful not to overheat.

Step 4

Hold each dried cherry by the stem, and dip it into the melted chocolate until fully coated. Let the excess chocolate drip off.

Step 5

Immediately press the flat bottom of a Hershey's Kiss onto the dipped cherry to form the mouse's body and head. Ensure both pieces stick together by holding them in place briefly.

Step 6

Press two sliced almonds between the cherry and Hershey's Kiss to form the ears. Adjust the angle as needed to resemble mouse ears.

Place the completed mouse on the prepared wax paper. Repeat with the remaining ingredients until all 24 mice are assembled.

Use the red gel icing or edible red pearls to add a tiny nose to each mouse on the tip of the Hershey's Kiss.

Create the eyes using black gel icing or by gently pressing chocolate sprinkles into the Kiss.
