  • 1.5 cups Powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cups Unsalted butter (softened, for frosting)
  • 1 teaspoons Vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 2 tablespoons Whole milk (for frosting)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, whisk together 1.5 cups all-purpose flour, 1.5 teaspoons baking powder, and 0.5 teaspoon salt. Set aside.

Step 3

Using a hand or stand mixer, cream together 0.5 cups unsalted butter and 1 cup granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 4

Add 2 eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in 2 teaspoons vanilla extract.

Step 5

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with 0.75 cups milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Step 6

Fold in 0.75 cups mini chocolate chips. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 16-18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cupcakes comes out clean. Let the cupcakes cool completely.

Step 8

Prepare the edible cookie dough by creaming together 0.25 cups unsalted butter and 0.25 cups brown sugar until smooth.

Step 9

Mix in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 0.5 cups heat-treated all-purpose flour until combined. Fold in 0.25 cups mini chocolate chips. Roll into 12 small balls and refrigerate.

Step 10

To make the frosting, beat 0.5 cups unsalted butter with 1.5 cups powdered sugar until smooth. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 2 tablespoons milk, beating until creamy.

Step 11

Once the cupcakes are cool, use a small knife or cupcake corer to remove the centers of each cupcake.

Step 12

Place a ball of chilled cookie dough into the hollowed-out center of each cupcake.

Step 13

Pipe or spread vanilla frosting on top of each cupcake, covering the cookie dough and decorating as desired.

Step 14

Serve and enjoy your delicious Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcakes!
