Ingredients

  • 3 pieces ripe bananas
  • 100 grams granulated sugar
  • 50 grams brown sugar
  • 80 grams unsalted butter
  • 2 pieces large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 200 grams all-purpose flour
  • 40 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 100 grams chocolate chips

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.

Step 2

Peel the ripe bananas and mash them in a large mixing bowl until smooth.

Step 3

Melt the unsalted butter in the microwave or on the stovetop, then let it cool slightly.

Step 4

Add granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Step 5

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 6

Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture, being careful not to overmix. Stir just until no dry streaks remain.

Step 7

Gently fold in the chocolate chips to evenly distribute them throughout the batter.

Step 8

Spoon the batter evenly into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about three-quarters full.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean or with just a few moist crumbs.

Step 10

Remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 11

Serve the chocolate banana muffins warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
