  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch cake pan.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 3

Add the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix well with an electric mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes.

Stir in the boiling water until the batter is thin and well combined.
