Ingredients

  • 250 grams All-purpose flour
  • 150 grams Granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 100 grams Unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
  • 120 milliliters Milk
  • 1.5 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 175 grams Chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.

Step 3

In a separate medium bowl, mix the melted butter, milk, vanilla extract, and eggs until smooth.

Step 4

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and gently fold together with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix; the batter should be a bit lumpy.

Step 5

Reserve 1-2 tablespoons of chocolate chips for topping, then fold the rest into the batter evenly.

Step 6

Divide the batter evenly between the muffin cups, filling them about 3/4 full. Sprinkle the reserved chocolate chips on top of each muffin.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.

Step 8

Remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 9

Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your delicious choc chip muffins!
