  • 2 whole Garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Lime juice
  • 1 cup Water (or vegetable stock)
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Honey (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Open the can of chipotle peppers in adobo and transfer its entire contents (including the sauce) into a medium saucepan.

Step 2

Add the garlic cloves, olive oil, lime juice, water (or vegetable stock), and salt into the saucepan with the chipotle peppers.

Step 3

Set the saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture comes to a simmer—about 5 minutes.

Step 4

Reduce the heat to medium-low and let it cook for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the mixture cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
