Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Ground pork
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks Green onion, finely chopped
  • 30 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 6 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 cups Bok choy, chopped
  • 1 medium Carrot, julienned
  • 1 tablespoon Rice vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon White pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Cooking oil

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, sesame oil, soy sauce, fresh ginger, garlic, and 1 chopped green onion. Mix well until the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Step 2

Prepare a clean surface or cutting board to assemble the wontons. Lay out a single wonton wrapper, and place about 1 teaspoon of the pork filling in the center.

Step 3

Lightly wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper over the filling into a triangle, pressing the edges together to seal. Bring the two bottom corners together and pinch to form the traditional wonton shape. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 4

In a large pot, heat 1 teaspoon of cooking oil over medium heat. Add the remaining chopped green onion and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 5

Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a gentle boil. Add the bok choy and carrot, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Season with rice vinegar, salt, and white pepper.

Step 6

Carefully add the wontons into the simmering broth. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the wontons float to the surface and the filling is fully cooked.

Step 7

Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed. Serve hot, garnished with extra chopped green onion if desired.
