Ingredients

  • 250 g Chicken breast, minced
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tsp Ginger, minced
  • 1 tsp Garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks Green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large Egg white
  • 2 tsp Cornstarch
  • 4 slices White sandwich bread
  • 50 g Sesame seeds
  • 500 ml Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp White pepper

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine minced chicken, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced ginger, minced garlic, chopped green onion, egg white, cornstarch, salt, and white pepper. Mix well until the chicken mixture becomes a smooth paste.

Step 2

With a sharp knife, trim the crusts off the sandwich bread slices to create neat edges.

Divide the chicken mixture into four equal portions and spread each portion evenly over one side of the bread slices, ensuring the mixture reaches all the edges.

Spread sesame seeds evenly over a shallow plate. Press the chicken side of each bread slice gently into the sesame seeds to coat the surface.

Step 5

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan or wok to approximately 180°C (350°F). To check if the oil is ready, drop a small piece of bread into the oil; it should sizzle and turn golden within a few seconds.

Step 6

Fry the chicken toasts one or two pieces at a time, with the chicken side down first, for about 2-3 minutes. Flip carefully and fry the other side of the bread for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden and crispy.

Step 7

Remove the toasts from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Cut each toast diagonally into two or four triangles. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce.
