Ingredients

  • 1 medium Red bell pepper, diced
  • 3 stalks Green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame seeds, toasted
  • 3 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Honey (or sugar for a vegan version)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the rice in cold water until the water runs clear, then combine it with 3 cups of water in a medium saucepan.

Step 2

Bring the rice to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.

Fluff the rice with a fork and let it cool to room temperature. For faster cooling, spread the rice on a large baking sheet.
