Ingredients

  • 450 grams beef sirloin (thinly sliced)
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (divided)
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon ginger (grated)
  • 1 large green bell pepper (sliced into strips)
  • 1 large red bell pepper (sliced into strips)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups white rice (cooked, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Mix until smooth.

Step 2

Place the sliced beef in a large bowl and pour the marinade over it. Mix well to coat the beef evenly. Let it marinate for 10 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil and swirl to coat the pan.

Step 4

Add the marinated beef to the pan in a single layer. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes or until the beef is browned. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

Step 5

In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 6

Add the sliced green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and onion. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.

Step 7

In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, beef broth, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, and the remaining 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to create the sauce.

Step 8

Return the cooked beef to the pan. Pour the sauce over the beef and vegetables.

Step 9

Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and evenly coats the beef and vegetables.

Step 10

Remove from heat and serve hot over cooked white rice. Enjoy!
