Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoons baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 40 sliced almonds or whole almonds
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes using a hand or stand mixer.
