Ingredients

  • 500 grams raw shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (grated or minced)
  • 8 pieces dried red chili peppers
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 pieces green onions (sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 0 salt (optional, to taste)

Directions

Step 1

Rinse and pat dry the shrimp with paper towels. Set aside.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix the light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, cornstarch, and water. Stir until the cornstarch dissolves to form a sauce. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the vegetable oil.

Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic, grated ginger, and dried red chili peppers to the pan. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
