Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 3 stalks green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cup napa cabbage, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package wonton wrappers (round or square)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 0.25 cup water (for steaming)
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce (for dipping)
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar (for dipping)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground pork, chopped green onions, napa cabbage, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and salt. Mix well until evenly combined.

Step 2

Take one wonton wrapper and place it on a clean, flat surface. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of the filling mixture into the center of the wrapper.

Step 3

Using your finger, lightly moisten the edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper in half over the filling, pressing the edges together to seal. For added texture, create small pleats along the edge by pinching sections of the wrapper together.

Step 4

Repeat with the remaining filling and wonton wrappers, setting the sealed dumplings aside on a parchment-lined tray to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, arrange the pot stickers in a single layer, flat side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.

Step 6

Carefully pour 1/4 cup of water into the skillet, then cover the skillet with a tight-fitting lid. Reduce the heat to medium-low and allow the dumplings to steam for 5-6 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the filling is cooked through.

Step 7

Remove the lid and continue cooking for 1-2 minutes to re-crisp the bottoms of the pot stickers. Transfer to a serving plate.

Step 8

In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup soy sauce with 2 tablespoons rice vinegar to create a dipping sauce. Serve the pot stickers warm with the dipping sauce on the side.
