  • 1 large Egg
  • 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili powder (Indian variety)
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 100 grams Spring onions (chopped)
  • 150 grams Bell peppers (red and green, diced)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon Kashmiri red chili paste
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar (white or rice vinegar)
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dark soy sauce
  • 100 milliliters Water
  • 0 to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper (freshly ground)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

Step 2

Marinate the chicken with light soy sauce, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, and a pinch of salt. Let it sit for 15 minutes.

Step 3

In a small bowl, whisk the egg and add the cornflour. Mix until smooth, then coat the marinated chicken in this batter.

Step 4

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium heat. Fry the chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
