Ingredients

  • 500 g Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 60 g Cornstarch
  • 60 g All-purpose flour
  • 30 ml Soy sauce
  • 1 large Egg
  • 10 ml Sesame oil
  • 5 g Garlic powder
  • 5 g Ginger powder
  • 5 g Salt
  • 2 g Black pepper
  • 500 ml Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 60 ml Hoisin sauce
  • 15 ml Rice vinegar
  • 15 ml Honey
  • 3 g Chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 stalks Green onions (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces, about 1-inch cubes.

Step 2

In a medium bowl, combine the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, mix well, and set aside for 10 minutes.

In another bowl, whisk the egg. In a separate shallow dish, mix the cornstarch and flour together.

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet or wok to 180°C (350°F).
