Ingredients

  • 250 grams Brazil nuts
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1.5 teaspoons Chilli flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoons Ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Honey (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

Spread the Brazil nuts evenly on the prepared tray. Roast them in the oven for 10 minutes, or until lightly golden and aromatic. Stir halfway through to ensure even roasting.

Step 3

While the nuts are roasting, heat the olive oil in a small skillet over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the minced garlic to the skillet, stirring constantly for 1-2 minutes, until it becomes fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn it.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to low and stir in the chilli flakes, smoked paprika, and ground cumin. Cook for another 30 seconds to bloom the spices.

Step 6

Remove the roasted Brazil nuts from the oven and immediately transfer them to a large mixing bowl.

Step 7

Pour the garlic and spice-infused oil over the nuts. Add the salt and, if using, the honey. Toss everything together until the nuts are well-coated.

Step 8

Let the nuts cool slightly before transferring them to a serving dish. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley for garnish.

Step 9

Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy this flavor-packed snack. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.
