Ingredients

  • 300 g Mixed nuts (unsalted)
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.25 tsp Cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
  • 1 tsp Brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper (if using), brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to form a spice paste.

Step 3

Add the mixed nuts to the bowl and toss them until they are evenly coated with the spice mixture.

Step 4

Spread the nuts in an even layer on the prepared baking tray.

Step 5

Roast the nuts in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, stirring them halfway through to ensure even toasting.

Step 6

Remove the tray from the oven and allow the nuts to cool completely on the baking sheet. They will become crunchier as they cool.

Step 7

Once cooled, transfer the chili nuts to an airtight container for storage. They can be kept for up to 1 week at room temperature.

Step 8

Serve as a snack or enjoy with your favorite drinks!
