Ingredients

  • 1 cup White vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Red chili flakes
  • 4 large Garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Peel and finely mince the garlic cloves.

Step 2

In a small saucepan, combine the minced garlic, white vinegar, water, sugar, and salt.

Step 3

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar and salt.

Step 4

Add the red chili flakes to the saucepan and stir. Heat for another 1-2 minutes until the chili flakes release their aroma, but do not let the vinegar boil vigorously.

Step 5

Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the Chili Garlic Vinegar mixture to cool to room temperature.

Step 6

Transfer the mixture to a clean, sterilized glass jar or bottle with a tightly fitting lid.

Step 7

Seal the container and refrigerate. Let it sit for at least 24 hours to allow the flavors to meld before using.

Step 8

Shake well before serving. The vinegar can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
