Ingredients

  • 15 pieces Red chilies
  • 10 pieces Garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons White vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Water

Directions

Step 1

Wash the red chilies thoroughly under running water and pat them dry. Remove the stems, and roughly chop them. If you prefer a milder sauce, you may remove the seeds.

Step 2

Peel the garlic cloves and roughly chop them.

Step 3

In a blender or food processor, add the chopped chilies, garlic, white vinegar, sugar, salt, and water. Blend until you achieve a slightly chunky consistency. Add more water if needed to adjust the consistency.

Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Step 5

Pour the blended chili-garlic mixture into the saucepan. Cook while stirring continuously for 3-5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly, and the raw smell of garlic dissipates. Be cautious as the mixture may splatter.

Step 6

Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the chili garlic sauce to cool completely.

Step 7

Transfer the sauce to a clean, airtight jar or container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Step 8

Stir well before each use and enjoy as a condiment or dipping sauce!
