  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 15-oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 5 cups tortilla chips
  • 0 sour cream, for garnish (optional)
  • 0 sliced green onions, for garnish (optional)
  • 0 fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it into crumbles, until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.

Step 3

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the cooked ground beef. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the onion is softened and fragrant.

Step 4

Stir in the diced tomatoes with green chilies, tomato paste, black beans, chili powder, cumin, paprika, and salt. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together. Remove from heat.
