Ingredients

  • 400 grams Kidney beans (canned)
  • 1 small Red onion
  • 2 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Tomato paste
  • 75 grams Breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 0 as desired Additional burger toppings (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)

Directions

Step 1

Drain and rinse the kidney beans thoroughly, then transfer them to a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

Using a fork or potato masher, mash the beans until they are mostly smooth with a few chunks for texture.

Finely chop the red onion, mince the garlic, and finely chop the parsley.

Step 4

Add the chopped onion, garlic, parsley, chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, soy sauce, tomato paste, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper to the mashed beans. Mix everything thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly combined.
