Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup Honey
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 2 peppers Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Lime juice
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, combine honey, ketchup, and apple cider vinegar over medium heat.

Step 2

Finely chop the chipotle peppers from the adobo sauce and add them to the saucepan. If you prefer a milder sauce, use only the adobo sauce and omit the chopped chipotle peppers.

Step 3

Stir in soy sauce, lime juice, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.

Step 4

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally to ensure the ingredients are fully combined.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to low and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly and reaches your desired consistency.

Step 6

Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Transfer to a blender or use an immersion blender to puree the sauce until smooth, if desired.

Step 7

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, adding more honey for sweetness or additional chipotle/adobo for heat.

Step 8

Let the sauce cool completely before using. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
