Ingredients

  • 2 racks Baby back ribs
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 3 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 1 cup Barbecue sauce (preferably hickory or sweet flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).

Step 2

Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for a more tender result. Use a sharp knife to loosen it and then pull it off using a paper towel for better grip.

Step 3

In a small bowl, mix the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and 2 tablespoons of brown sugar to create a dry rub.

Step 4

Rub the olive oil over both sides of the ribs, then generously apply the dry rub, making sure to coat evenly.

Step 5

Place the ribs on a large piece of aluminum foil (shiny side in) on a baking sheet. Wrap the foil tightly around the ribs to seal them completely.

Step 6

Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 hours, or until the meat is tender and begins to pull away from the bones.

Step 7

While the ribs are baking, prepare the barbecue glaze. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the barbecue sauce, honey, remaining 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Stir and simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened. Set aside.

Step 8

Once the ribs are cooked, remove them from the oven and carefully unwrap the foil (be cautious of escaping steam).

Step 9

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or set your oven to broil.

Step 10

Brush the ribs generously with the prepared barbecue glaze on all sides.

Step 11

Grill the ribs for 3-5 minutes per side, or broil them in the oven for 5-7 minutes, until the glaze caramelizes and has a slight char.

Step 12

Remove the ribs from the heat and allow them to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Step 13

Serve the ribs hot with extra barbecue sauce on the side, and enjoy!
