Ingredients

  • 2 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 12 pieces Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons Lemon juice
  • 0.5 cup Chicken broth
  • 0.25 cup Dry white wine
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon zest

Directions

Step 1

Start by seasoning the chicken breasts with a pinch of salt and black pepper on both sides.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside, tented with foil to keep warm.

Step 3

In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter. Once the butter has melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

Step 4

Deglaze the skillet by pouring in the chicken broth and white wine. Use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Step 5

Add the lemon juice, lemon zest, and crushed red pepper flakes to the skillet. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.

Step 6

Stir in the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they turn pink and are cooked through.

Step 7

Lower the heat and return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over the top to coat them.

Step 8

Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet and swirl it into the sauce until it melts, creating a silky finish.

Step 9

Garnish the dish with fresh parsley and serve immediately. Enjoy with a side of pasta, rice, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
