Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 100 grams Pepperoni slices
  • 400 grams Crushed tomatoes (canned)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Dried basil
  • 0.25 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and ground black pepper.

Step 2

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken breasts in the skillet, about 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set it aside.

Step 3

In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and chopped onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.

Add the pepperoni slices to the skillet and cook for 2 minutes, allowing the pepperoni to release its flavors.
