Ingredients

  • 500 grams Ground chicken
  • 100 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 pieces Garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 stalks Green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
  • 4 tablespoons Tomato ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons Water

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped green onions, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are well combined.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 2-3 inches in diameter. Set the patties aside.

Step 3

Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken patties in batches, ensuring there is enough space between them.

Step 4

Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the cooked patties and set them aside on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Repeat with the remaining patties, adding more oil as needed.

Step 5

To prepare the hot and sour sauce, whisk together tomato ketchup, rice vinegar, honey, hot sauce, cornstarch, and water in a small bowl until smooth.

Step 6

Heat a small saucepan over medium heat and pour in the sauce mixture. Cook, stirring continuously, until the sauce thickens and coats the back of a spoon. This should take about 2-3 minutes. Remove the sauce from heat.

Step 7

Serve the chicken patties warm with the hot and sour sauce drizzled over the top or served on the side for dipping. Enjoy!
