Ingredients

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 12 ounces dried pasta (e.g., spaghetti or penne)
  • 24 ounces jarred marinara sauce
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.

Step 2

Season chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning on both sides.

Step 3

Cook the chicken in the skillet for 6-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and golden brown. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing into strips.

Step 4

While the chicken cooks, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside.

Step 5

In the same skillet used for the chicken, pour in the marinara sauce and heat on low until warmed through, about 5 minutes.

Step 6

Add the drained pasta to the marinara sauce and toss to coat evenly.

Step 7

Plate the pasta and top with sliced chicken breasts.

Step 8

Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over each serving and garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.

Step 9

Serve immediately and enjoy!
