Ingredients

  • 500 grams Chicken (boneless or bone-in)
  • 300 grams Fresh spinach leaves
  • 1 large Onion
  • 2 medium Tomato
  • 2 teaspoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 small Green chilies
  • 2 tablespoons Yogurt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoons Red chili powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoons Garam masala
  • 1 teaspoons Cumin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons Oil or ghee
  • 1 to taste Salt
  • 100 milliliters Water

Directions

Step 1

Wash and blanch the spinach leaves in boiling water for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to ice water to retain the green color. Puree the spinach in a blender and set aside.

Step 2

Heat oil or ghee in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and allow them to splutter.

Step 3

Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

Step 4

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft and mushy.

Step 6

Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and let the spices cook for about 1-2 minutes.

Add the chicken pieces and cook for 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is no longer pink.
