Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 packages crescent roll dough
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 0.5 cups plain breadcrumbs

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Step 2

In a medium skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, softened cream cheese, sautéed onions, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until the filling is evenly combined.

Step 4

Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. For each packet, use two triangles to form a rectangle by pinching the seams together.

Step 5

Place a generous spoonful of the chicken mixture into the center of each dough rectangle. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching to seal and forming a small packet.

Step 6

Brush the tops of the packets with melted butter, then sprinkle with breadcrumbs for a golden, crispy topping.

Step 7

Arrange the chicken packets on the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Step 9

Allow the packets to cool completely if freezing. To store, wrap each packet individually in plastic wrap or aluminum foil, then place them in a resealable freezer bag. Label and freeze.

Step 10

To reheat, bake frozen chicken packets in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until heated through.
