  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 pieces garlic cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 12 sheets phyllo dough sheets
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons plain breadcrumbs

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and let cool slightly, then shred the chicken into small pieces using two forks.

In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the finely chopped onion and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly caramelized.

Peel, core, and dice the apple into small pieces. Add the apple to the skillet with the onions and cook for another 3-4 minutes, until the apple is slightly softened.

Mince the garlic cloves and add them to the skillet along with the ground cinnamon, pepper, and salt. Stir well and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Remove the skillet from heat and mix in the shredded chicken. Set the filling aside to cool slightly.
